Our range of smaller sized, short cycle, counter current, skid mounted demineralisation units, are developed to use proven multiport valve technology for control of service and regeneration functions.
“Short cycle” refers to the relatively short period of time that the unit is in service before going into a regeneration. This might be as short as 2 – 2½ hours (depending on the relative capacity of the demineraliser) but is offset by the relatively short regeneration period which typically takes around 30 minutes.
“Counter current” refers to the fact that the regenerant chemical passes through the ion exchange resin in the opposite direction to the service flow. This means that service water passing through the resin comes into contact with the most highly regenerated resin as it exists each column, thereby ensuring a high quality of treated water.
Our larger plant more typically employs individual diaphragm valves, mounted within pipework manifolds and supported by a steel frame to enable easy access for servicing.
Bespoke demineralizer systems for more specialist applications, such as water recovery within the metal finishing industry, are also available.
These systems are designed to employ a variety of ion exchange resins (these resins being selected to best suit the application) and have additional design features such as the facility for in situ cleaning of resins.
AllWater treatment plant is designed, manufactured and fully tested in-house, enabling a high level of quality control and the opportunity for client inspection at any stage of the system build.
Demineralisers are supplied with conductivity or resistance meters for indication of treated water quality and control of regeneration initiation; larger water treatment plants being supplied with programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) for overall plant control, and human machine interface (HMI) for indication of plant running condition and operator input.
Regenerant handling systems including semi-bulk and bulk holding tanks are available, although smaller water treatment plants are generally designed, for ease of use, to regenerate directly from carboys or other suitable containers.
A wide variety of fume scrubbing systems, including resin type scrubbers with colour change resin for operation with day tanks or other small containers are also available.
