Good deed for the day! – October 2016

The AWT Team came to the rescue of a rather over-adventurous pet this month.

When a brightly coloured bird was spotted in the yard it was eminently clear that he was not native and the team, being animal lovers and aware of the wealth of hawks in the area, simply couldn’t bear to leave the little fellow to his fate.

Employing a good degree of cunning, biscuit crumbs  and a small fishing net, the escapee, a rather handsome and exceptionally hungry green & yellow pied budgie, was caught and is now safely housed with a local pet rescue volunteer pending a response to the ‘Found’ posters now adorning local shops and lamp posts.
