Family Fun for AWT at Puxton Park! – August 2022

The AWT team and their families recently enjoyed an afternoon of great fun and fabulous food at Puxton Park in Somerset.  The tradition of a Summer family get-together was started a few years ago and is now a much anticipated and well-attended social event. 

There was a complimentary ice-cream on arrival, much appreciated on what was a lovely warm and sunny day.  There was so much to do.  Some of our colleagues braved ‘one of the most exciting and challenging high ropes course in the South West’, others the Jurassic Jeeps course with roaring dinosaurs!  We all thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the animals (especially the calves in Derek’s Cow Barn), rowing on the boating lake and taking a trip on the miniature railway.

Once the park was closed for the day, we had exclusive use of the Indoor soft play area and a few daring souls bravely took on the challenge of the vertical Red Rooster Death slide!  Some were far more graceful in their descent than others!

An AWT social would not be complete without a fun game or two and a lucky dip. We all played ‘Guess the Baby’ and our winner was Victoria from our admin team, who somehow managed to identify 12 of her colleagues out of the 20 photographs. For those who are still wondering, it was Operations Director, Sue in the chicken fancy dress costume !

To round off the day, we were treated to an amazing BBQ cooked to perfection by the chefs at Puxton Park, with salads and meats all from the park’s farm shop.
